Dear members and friends of the Baldwin Historical Society & Museum
Over the last few years, we were able to reopen and hold our grand dedication of the Nunley’s golf ball, which our faithful members and followers made happen. We were also instrumental in getting the County of Nassau to reopen Nunley’s Carousel in Mitchel Field.
The Baldwin Museum collection continues to expand through the many donated items that are coming in.
There is so much more to do, and we cannot rest on our laurels.
We are asking you all to join us for another year of membership AND to add a generous donation to your membership.
WHY???
Quite simply, we have run out of room.
2024 will bring a new start to the Museum as we have embarked on a mission to expand our museum building.
As told to us by Rolf Mahler a few years ago, ”After we poured the concrete foundation (back in 1976), we realized that we should have made the building bigger!”
Working with Nassau County and our architect Willy Zambrano, we have made plans to add onto the original building. This will take quite a bit of money and we are already hard at work applying for grants but we need the monetary help of our community.
We are hopeful that we can complete the new addition and be able to dedicate it around the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Museum in 2026. The Museum is dedicated to preserving the history of Baldwin and is a vital resource for authors, genealogists and anyone who is interested in the history of our community.
